What is a Lone Worker?

What is a lone worker? and why do they need lone worker training? A lone worker is someone who works by themselves without close or direct supervision. A lone worker does not have to be physically alone, they may be conducting tasks in a separate location to co-workers. Although separated from co-workers many lone workers interact with customers and the public.
