Course Content

Unit DN1

Workplace health and safety principles

This unit provides an in-depth understanding of the key areas for managing health and safety. It covers moral, economic and societal drivers, health and safety law and management systems.

Unit DN2

Controlling workplace health issues

This unit gives an in-depth understanding of all major aspects of managing chemical, biological, physical and physiological hazards in the workplace.

Unit DN3

Controlling workplace safety issues

This unit provides a thorough understanding of how to create a safe working environment. It covers welfare, fire, dangerous substances, work equipment, electricity, construction and transport.

Case-study. Approx 20-hours to complete

Each assessment is completed electronically and submitted through the NEBOSH exam portal. You'll have between 2-4 weeks to complete your assessments, and will have a dedicated start date and submission deadline.

Information

You must pass all three units to achieve your full NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma. Your total number of marks will determine your final qualification grade.

The assessment for the NEBOSH International Diploma (NEBOSH IDIP) is carried out via a workplace assignment and two case studies. These practical evaluations provide participants with the opportunity to apply the knowledge they've acquired during the course, demonstrating their proficiency in managing occupational safety and health risks.

NEBOSH Exams

The NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma takes a practical approach to learning and is assessed entirely through practical work and scenario-based questions.
DI1 is assessed with a practical assignment split into 2 Papers. The second paper combines the following:

• Scenario based questions
• Work based activities
• Reflective statements
• A short research project

Units DI2 and DI3 are assessed with case studies and scenario based questions.

You will have 2-4 weeks to complete your assessments and submit your work to the NEBOSH online portal. You should spend around 40 hours on your DI1 assignment and 20 hours each on your DI2 and DI3 assignments.

Please note that NEBOSH exam fees are NOT included within the course price. Exam fees are additional and are paid directly to the training provider when you are ready to sit your examinations.

Prior Knowledge

You should already have a foundation-level qualification, such as the NEBOSH International General certificate, or at least 5 years’ experience in the field.

Devices

All of our online learning courses have been developed to give the best learning experience on a desktop or laptop computer, but some of them can now be accessed on tablets, like the iPad or Samsung Galaxy Tab. There are a wide range of tablets on the market and although the courses should work on all of them, to get the best mobile experience we recommend a few things:

• A minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 600, with a recommended screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher.
• Generally the standard web browser is the best one to use, so on an iPad, for example, use Safari. You may also need to change a setting in the browser to allow cookies from 3rd parties (you definitely will with Safari).
• The courses are accessed most easily when connected to Wi-Fi rather than mobile data networks. If you do access via a mobile data network please note that you may be charged by your service provider, depending on your contract.

The courses are best viewed in landscape but on occasion you might need to turn to portrait, to close a pop-up for example.
